Senior Sales Engineer, Enterprise

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Enterprise clients to comprehend their business needs, use cases, and requirements related to data replication, transformation, and modeling.

• Create and present technical demonstrations to Enterprise audiences showcasing the complete Fivetran + dbt value proposition.

• Secure technical success by conducting a proof-of-value process that encompasses ingestion through transformation.

• Assist clients in navigating dbt Cloud proof-of-concept implementations, including private-cloud deployments for enterprise customers when relevant.

• Work in tandem with Product and Engineering teams to ensure solutions meet Enterprise customer requirements and contribute to the dbt Cloud enterprise roadmap.

• Build and sustain relationships with key Enterprise customers and partners, such as Snowflake, AWS, and Databricks.

• Manage the technical relationship throughout the entire customer lifecycle, from pre-sale assessment to adoption and growth.

• Keep abreast of trends in data movement, transformation, and analytics engineering, and engage with the dbt community.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in data replication, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or consulting within data operations, analytics, or BI.

• Robust technical expertise in database replication, cloud infrastructure, and contemporary data warehousing architectures.

• Practical experience with SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.

• Familiarity with modern data analytics technologies, including cloud data warehouses/lakes, transformation tools (dbt or similar), data catalogs, and BI tools.

• Capability to gather and translate both technical and business requirements into tangible solutions.

• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, skilled at conveying complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; adept at functioning in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

• Optional: Previous experience in an analytics, ETL, BI, or open-source software organization.

• Optional: Practical knowledge of dbt Cloud, dbt Core, or Fivetran.

• Optional: Familiarity with data modeling methodologies (dimensional, data vault, Kimball, 3NF).

• Optional: Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or traditional Enterprise ETL tools (Informatica, Boomi, Talend).

• Optional: Experience with self-hosted software applications and their supporting infrastructure.

• Optional: Hands-on experience with networking, both cloud and on-premise.
