This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of essential IBM i applications.
• Assist clients in troubleshooting application challenges and recognizing business requirements throughout the entire project life cycle.
• Examine, design, code, and conduct testing for software applications utilizing all versions of RPG and SQL.
• Ensure the integrity of programs and applications through various testing phases, including unit, integration, and smoke testing.
• Convert system architecture into both textual and visual documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Lead small technical teams as necessary.
• Conduct code reviews for modifications related to databases and logic.
• Facilitate the transformation of legacy business applications into contemporary, scalable ILE applications.
• Provide consulting services to support clients' business application systems.
• Over 20 years of demonstrated experience with the IBM i (iSeries/AS/400) platform.
• Expertise in various forms of RPG, particularly RPGLE, including Free-form syntax and embedded SQL.
• Proven hands-on experience with JDA/MMS (Mandatory).
• Advanced knowledge of DB2 application programming and database design.
• Comprehensive understanding of ILE concepts (Modules, Service Programs, Binding Directories).
• Experience with structured deployment and version control processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with diverse levels of client personnel.
• Preferred: experience with major IBM i ERP systems, RDi or Eclipse-based IDEs, Git or SVN, Impact Analysis tools, APIs, JSON, XML, and GoAnywhere.
