This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Assist in the execution of the Northern First Nation Home Retrofit Program by managing subcontractor activities, ensuring quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and processing work orders.
• Oversee daily subcontractor scheduling, task assignments, and performance evaluation.
• Act as the main contact point for subcontractor teams, addressing or escalating field-related issues as necessary.
• Lead the onboarding and training processes for new subcontractor partners and team members.
• Conduct or facilitate QA/QC evaluations in alignment with program, safety, and building science standards.
• Record findings, follow up on corrective measures, and promote ongoing improvements in QA/QC procedures.
• Manage, track, and maintain work orders throughout the program pipeline.
• Identify and monitor bottlenecks and delays in the workflow.
• Assist with reporting, file management, operational administration, and transitions to new operational systems.
• Organize logistics for field visits in collaboration with communities and subcontractors.
• Address sensitive escalations from subcontractors or community members and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
• Engage in client communications, respond to daily inquiries, and support the Program Manager in their absence.
• Travel frequently to participating Northern First Nation and Métis communities to oversee field activities and on-site work.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with community members, leadership, and housing authorities.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction, trades, residential energy efficiency, or program operations.
• Proficient in advanced Excel and analytical skills.
• Capability to work autonomously with limited daily supervision.
• Competent in creating complex, precise reports that adhere to contract specifications.
• Experience in developing or utilizing tools, trackers, and calculators.
• Knowledgeable in residential building science, home construction methods, and/or energy efficiency retrofits.
• Experience in coordinating or supervising external contractors, subcontractors, or trades, or possess strong potential based on prior hands-on trades experience.
• Ability to manage sensitive escalations and communicate effectively with contractors, participants, and other stakeholders.
• Strong organizational capabilities with the ability to juggle multiple work orders, schedules, and priorities.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel frequently, up to approximately 20%, including overnight stays in remote and Northern communities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to train and assist others.
• Possession of a building science credential, such as BPI, or readiness to obtain one.
• Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities or organizations, particularly in Northern and remote First Nation and Métis settings.
• Education or certification in construction, building science, or engineering fields.
• Ability to research and implement industry trends to enhance program design and development.
• Must have authorization to work in Canada without employer sponsorship or support.
