Senior Release Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage the complete software release lifecycle for enterprise systems in the restaurant and retail sectors.

• Oversee the prioritization of releases, milestones, deliverables, and criteria for success.

• Serve as the main point of contact for production deployments, patching, release challenges, escalations, and contingency strategies.

• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, Product, QA, and Customer Success teams to ensure features are delivered on scheduled release dates while achieving business and quality objectives.

• Identify and oversee both internal and external dependencies, risks, and logistical aspects during the release process.

• Foster strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders and promote alignment through effective communication and conflict resolution.

• Plan, coordinate, and manage the release calendar across development and testing environments.

• Monitor pre-release criteria and facilitate Go/No-Go discussions to ensure quality, security, and compliance.

• Explore, pilot, and implement AI and automation tools to enhance deployment efficiency, minimize manual coordination, and speed up the release cadence.

• Monitor and report on the measurable outcomes of process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in release management, program management, or project management within a multi-team software development environment.

• Extensive knowledge and experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as well as Agile and Scrum methodologies.

• Advanced proficiency in Jira (Administrator level), Confluence, Monday.com, and comparable deployment, reporting, and dashboarding tools.

• Experience in configuring and managing delivery and release tools.

• Proven experience utilizing AI and intelligent tools for documentation, communication, risk/anomaly detection, status reporting, and workflow automation.

• Exceptional organizational abilities with a strong emphasis on quality and rigorous execution.

• Strong program management skills, including the development of release plans, RAID logs, and dependency mapping.

• Experience in managing trade-offs related to scope, timelines, and resources.

• Excellent skills in collaboration, relationship management, communication, listening, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, leadership, influence, ownership, independence, and adaptability.

• Experience in creating executive-level presentations and delivering them to senior leadership.

• A strong passion for engaging with technical teams and environments.

• Experience in supporting large-scale software releases or platform transformations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to convert ambiguity into structured plans and actionable execution paths.

• Comfort in facilitating meetings at the executive level and across various functions.
