
Senior Regional Sales Director – Great Lakes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Spearhead sales initiatives for Spine growth within the designated Great Lakes region.
• Oversee the regional team comprising District Managers, sales representatives, and specialized spine technology sales personnel.
• Foster a unified team culture among sales representatives specializing in spine surgery and enabling technologies.
• Collaborate across functions with business partners and clients to meet sales and business goals.
• Strategize, develop, and structure team strategies, execution plans, performance management, market strategies, and account approaches.
• Lead efforts in cross-training and change management to enhance team operations.
• Promote the adoption of innovative surgical methods and procedures through the strategic deployment of spine technology sales representatives.
• Formulate strategies and tactics with the Spine AVP to enhance regional market share.
• Deploy strategic technology sales teams to engage competitive surgeons in partnership with territory sales teams and District Managers.
• Generate new revenue streams at key strategic and growth-opportunity accounts utilizing Sales, Marketing, and Medical Education resources.
• Advocate for the sale and adoption of robotic-assisted spine surgery.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet revenue and unit targets in capital sales.
• Provide growth opportunities for the regional team and attract high-potential talent.
• Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and administrative clients.
• Champion Inclusion and Diversity initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Medtronic Quality Systems.
• Represent the company in accordance with its policies while monitoring market and competitive landscapes for strategic planning.
• Report directly to the Regional Vice President of Sales.
• Travel approximately 50% across Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and nearby areas.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 15+ years of relevant medical sales experience or an advanced degree with at least 13 years of pertinent medical sales experience.
• Minimum of 10 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in the spine sector.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
• For degrees obtained outside the United States, a degree that meets the criteria specified in 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree along with 5+ years of experience in managing and expanding strategic customer relationships within the healthcare, medical device, or related fields.
• Preferred: Prior experience in people leadership, including direct talent management within the last 3 years.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic business plans to foster growth, market share, and customer value.
• Proficient in building, nurturing, and maintaining executive-level relationships.
• Strong business acumen with the capability to analyze complex business challenges and create customized solutions.
• Experience leading in complex, matrixed environments and influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Skills in relationship management, negotiation, and customer performance management.
• Strong leadership abilities and talent development skills.
• Experience in managing human and financial resources.
• Advanced proficiency with business technology, data analytics tools, CRM platforms, and customer-facing presentation development.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication abilities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare systems, hospital operations, and healthcare economics.
• Flexibility, creativity, and capacity to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to lead organizational change and facilitate the adoption of new strategies and initiatives.
