
Senior Quantitative Manager – New Account Screening

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team of analytics and strategy specialists dedicated to screening new accounts for customer originations at a new bank.
• Develop, lead, and execute analytics, technology, and process enhancement strategies for digital account controls and various new-account channels.
• Enhance profitability while minimizing fraud risk.
• Employ descriptive and predictive methods to counteract fraud trends.
• Generate reports, create fraud rules, utilize technology, and implement quantitative strategies.
• Independently oversee reporting, strategy, and analytics operations.
• Guide and mentor junior analytics team members.
• Work collaboratively across departments with the Fraud Strategy & Analytics team and other stakeholders at Fifth Third.
• Offer ad hoc analytics assistance for operational, strategic, and leadership inquiries.
• Participate in workflow or process modifications, redesign, business planning, policy formulation, procedural updates, and efficiency enhancement initiatives.
• Identify, evaluate, manage, monitor, and report on risks.
• Advanced degree in quantitative analytics, economics, statistics, engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant work or fraud experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
• 5–10 years of professional experience.
• 2–4 years of management experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• 4–8 years of hands-on experience with SAS, R, and/or Python; coursework experience is also acceptable.
• 4–8 years of expertise in statistical/econometric modeling and database management.
• 4–8 years of proficiency in SAS, including statistical modeling and SQL.
• Strong critical thinking abilities, encompassing problem framing, hypothesis testing, and solution implementation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
• Capability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
