Senior QA/508/Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct accessibility assessments, functional evaluations, and regression tests for an enterprise Content Management System that supports a federal and DoD-aligned mission environment.

• Test CMS templates, modules, workflows, and pages to ensure functionality and enhance user experience.

• Carry out accessibility evaluations in accordance with WCAG and Section 508 compliance standards.

• Implement regression testing for platform updates, deployments, and CMS releases.

• Confirm page rendering, responsive behavior, and performance across various browsers.

• Record defects, test outcomes, and root cause analyses using enterprise test management tools.

• Create, revise, and sustain test plans, test scripts, and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with developers and architects to verify fixes, retest issues, and foster quality improvements.

• Execute structured testing of search functionalities, user authentication processes, and content workflows.

• Assist in automated testing initiatives where applicable.

• Engage in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness evaluations.

• Identify defects, validate corrections, confirm adherence to WCAG/508 accessibility standards, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of testing processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Secret clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, QA/Testing, or a related technical field.

• At least 10 years of experience in software testing, QA analysis, or accessibility testing.

• Proficient in testing CMS platforms, enterprise applications, or digital content systems.

• Experience in conducting WCAG/508 compliance testing and utilizing accessibility testing tools.

• Skilled in validating workflows, templates, rendering behaviors, and intricate user paths.

• Strong knowledge of WCAG and Section 508 accessibility standards.

• Familiar with browser developer tools, accessibility scanners, and manual accessibility techniques.

• Proficient with test case management tools, defect tracking systems, and regression testing methodologies.

• Understanding of cross-browser testing, responsive design validation, and UI behavior analysis.

• Required certification in WCAG or Section 508 accessibility.

• Preferred experience with automated testing tools or scripting.

• Preferred familiarity with CMS templating and content structures.

• Preferred experience in Agile development environments.

• Preferred Certified Software Tester (CSTE) designation.

• Preferred Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent certification.

• Preferred PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI ACP) credential.

• Strong analytical and testing capabilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to clearly document findings and communicate defects effectively.

• Excellent collaboration skills for working alongside developers, designers, and architects.

• Capacity to analyze user flows and identify usability or accessibility challenges.
