Senior QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assist in testing application development initiatives, infrastructure modifications, maintenance periods, and other quality assurance tasks under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Engineering Manager.

• Create and implement both manual and automated test plans for web applications.

• Document and record test outcomes, comparing them against expected results.

• Conduct risk-based assessments and formulate testing strategies to reduce functional and regression errors.

• Prepare test plans and testing methodologies.

• Develop, document, and sustain reusable test cases.

• Test new features and regression functionalities across various testing environments.

• Execute manual test cases and project-specific automated scripts.

• Automate UI tests using the Selenium framework.

• Analyze Selenium automated test results, troubleshoot failures, determine causes, and resolve issues.

• Collaborate with Product, Development, and Quality Engineering teams.

• Engage in a SAFe Agile Scrum team.

• Identify, document, isolate, regress, and track defects until resolution.

• Utilize browser developer tools and application logs for troubleshooting and understanding bugs.

• Evaluate user interfaces for compliance and functionality.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience collaborating with Software Development Teams, including experience in developing test plans and/or test matrices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Knowledge of web-based, API, mobile, or multi-platform testing.

• Capacity to design and execute both manual and automated test plans.

• Ability to comprehend implementation impacts and conduct risk-based evaluations.

• Skill in developing, documenting, and maintaining clear, reusable test cases.

• Experience in executing manual test cases and automated scripts.

• Understanding of the test automation pyramid and the selection of automation strategies.

• Proficiency in automating UI tests with Selenium WebDriver utilizing the page object model design pattern.

• Ability to assess Selenium test results, troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and rectify issues.

• Capability to read and understand documented requirements for complex features.

• Understanding of the implications of platform changes in a complex SaaS environment.

• Proficiency in implementing application designs and creating queries, scripts, web pages, and other deliverables.

• Ability to read and comprehend API requests and responses.

• Familiarity with functional, regression, and smoke testing, covering both positive and negative scenarios.

• Acquaintance with browser developer tools and application logs.

• Experience with SQL and JIRA.

• Familiarity with Jenkins.

• Experience with GitLab.

• Familiarity with Playwright is preferred.

• Experience with REST Assured is preferred.

• Experience with accessibility testing is preferred.

• Clear and concise communication of technical information in English, both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to collaborate effectively and work independently.

• Capacity to work with individuals across various time zones and adjust to occasional calls outside regular working hours.

• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
