This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Supervise the creation of test automation scripts within the QA team and conduct code reviews.
• Guide test automation engineers on best practices in test automation.
• Develop, maintain, and execute functional, browser, performance, load, and stress tests.
• Generate comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Design, implement, execute, and analyze functional, integration, security, system, stress, load, and robustness test suites.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing efforts.
• Create, develop, and run automation scripts and programs utilizing open-source tools.
• Identify, document, and monitor bugs throughout the testing process.
• Conduct validation and verification of fixes once bugs are resolved.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to determine system requirements.
• Oversee the outcomes of the debugging process.
• Investigate the reasons behind non-conforming software and assist in implementing solutions and fixes.
• Monitor quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and counts of open defects.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in software engineering or computer science.
• 3–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
• Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with Java, SQL, Rest Assured, JMeter, and Selenium.
• Comprehensive understanding and practical application of TDD, BDD, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Strong familiarity with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in drafting clear, concise, and thorough test plans and test cases.
• Practical experience with both white box and black box testing.
• Robust understanding of Java and querying technologies such as SQL, Mongo, and Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with defect tracking systems like Jira.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working diligently within a remote team.
• Independent with excellent self-learning abilities.
• Strong technical and business problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional analytical skills.
• Self-aware, driven, open to coaching, and able to collaborate effectively with all team members.
• Nice to have: experience in software development with Java, Groovy, REST API, SOAP Web Services, and GraphQL.
• Nice to have: experience in performance and/or security testing.
• Nice to have: familiarity with tools and procedures for load, robustness, and system testing.
