Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Drive and support the evolving Technology Vision and the newly established CTO strategy.

• Ensure the reliability, accuracy, and scalability of essential payment flows throughout the platform.

• Take responsibility for the complete quality of deposit, payout, and reconciliation payment processes.

• Validate critical business scenarios and identify risks associated with transaction lifecycles.

• Design and implement API-first testing scenarios.

• Develop and maintain automated tests for APIs and selected UI components.

• Create reusable testing components, including clients and data builders.

• Test integrations with Open Banking and payment processors.

• Validate asynchronous processes involving callbacks, polling, and retries.

• Investigate production issues and replicate bugs.

• Work with logs, databases, and API traces.

• Support root cause analysis efforts.

• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to ensure testability.

• Define acceptance criteria in conjunction with the product team.

• Contribute to the establishment of release quality gates.

• Assist in the formulation of regression testing strategies.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, including smoke tests and pre-release evaluations.

• Enhance overall engineering quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in API testing (REST, JSON, HTTP).

• Strong comprehension of backend systems.

• Proficiency in test automation using Playwright, RestAssured, or similar tools.

• Ability to debug issues utilizing logs and databases.

• Understanding of asynchronous systems, including callbacks, queues, and retries.

• Background in payments or fintech sectors.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

• SQL and data validation expertise.

• Experience with distributed systems.

• Proficient in prompt engineering for AI-assisted QA and test automation.

• Practical experience using AI tools for QA automation.
