Senior QA Automation Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical direction for automation architecture, framework design, coding standards, and best practices within the DevOps team.

• Assess and enhance existing automation frameworks to boost maintainability, scalability, reliability, and execution efficiency.

• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, DevOps engineers, and QA personnel to establish automation strategies, reusable test assets, and technical solutions.

• Design, implement, and manage functional, system integration, API, and regression automation suites that support statewide healthcare eligibility systems.

• Incorporate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and facilitate automated execution throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Provide mentorship to automation engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, framework direction, and knowledge sharing.

• Create SQL queries and conduct database validation to support automated testing and resolve complex application issues.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, defect triage, and technical design discussions while offering automation leadership.

• Investigate, assess, and recommend new automation tools, technologies, and framework enhancements to elevate software quality and ensure long-term maintainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing, developing, and executing automated test solutions for large-scale enterprise applications — required.

• At least 5 years of experience in developing automation frameworks using Java and Selenium or similar automation technologies — required.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, developing, or significantly enhancing automation frameworks using object-oriented design principles and reusable framework architecture — required.

• At least 3 years of experience integrating automated testing into Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins — required.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience writing SQL queries and performing database validation to support automated testing — required.

• Preferred experience as an Automation Architect, Principal QA Automation Engineer, Automation Framework Lead, or Senior Automated Consultant.

• Preferred experience in providing technical leadership, mentoring automation engineers, and conducting automation code reviews.

• Preferred experience in modernizing established automation frameworks to enhance maintainability, scalability, sustainability, and long-term supportability.

• Preferred experience in designing automation frameworks from scratch, including reusable components, reporting, coding standards, maintainability, scalability, and extensibility.

• Preferred experience in evaluating and modernizing legacy automation frameworks and implementing technical enhancements.

• Preferred experience in supporting large, complex, mission-critical enterprise applications.

• Preferred experience in collaborating with developers, solution architects, DevOps engineers, and business analysts to execute automation strategies.

• Preferred experience with IBM Engineering Test Management (ETM), IBM Quality Manager (QM), IBM Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM), or equivalent enterprise test management tools.

• Preferred experience in automating web applications, REST APIs, and conducting database validation.

• Preferred experience with performance testing tools or involvement in performance testing initiatives.

• Preferred experience working within Agile/Scrum DevOps teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences — preferred.

• Preferred experience in supporting healthcare, human services, government, or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
