Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Join a long-term partnership with a reputable European investment firm managing multi-billion euro assets.

• Contribute to an AI-driven internal platform that is already operational.

• Integrate LLM models for internal utilization.

• Create automation workflows for decision-making processes.

• Develop chat-based assistants tailored for analysts and project managers.

• Assume full ownership from architectural design through to production deployment.

• Design and construct scalable backend APIs utilizing Python and AWS Lambda.

• Develop and oversee OpenAPI specifications for serverless APIs.

• Build and maintain data models and schema migrations using PostgreSQL on AWS RDS.

• Establish and manage infrastructure as code with Terraform for AWS resources.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab CI/CD.

• Utilize Amazon S3 for the storage and serving of assets and data.

• Integrate generative AI services with Amazon Bedrock.

• Implement best practices in version control, testing, and security.

• Engage in code reviews, architectural planning, and agile team ceremonies.

• Work directly with analysts, portfolio managers, risk specialists, and the client team.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Python 3.

• Proficient in building APIs using FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.

• Experience in developing serverless applications with AWS Lambda.

• Familiarity with API Gateway and/or ALB for service routing and integration.

• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, including deployment to AWS RDS.

• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.

• Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger for API contracts and documentation.

• Proficient with GitLab and Git workflows for version control and CI/CD pipelines.

• Understanding of S3 use cases within web applications.

• Comfortable operating in agile environments and proactive in problem-solving.

• Familiarity with Amazon Bedrock or similar AI/ML platforms.

• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools within AWS.

• Previous experience in the fintech or asset management sectors.

• Awareness of security practices for serverless applications, including IAM roles, API authorization, and secret management.
