Senior Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services as well as REST APIs utilizing Python.

• Create scalable solutions for ingesting, processing, and transforming extensive datasets.

• Engage with Microsoft Azure, focusing on containerized workloads, batch processing, PostgreSQL, and event-driven architectures.

• Contribute to the development of cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Collaborate with Databricks and implement modern data processing methodologies.

• Work alongside engineers on system design, data modeling, and platform enhancements.

• Enhance software quality through code reviews, automated testing, and mentoring junior developers.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity, expedite problem-solving, and assist in coding, testing, and technical analysis.

• Develop and advance a proprietary data platform aimed at identifying vulnerabilities and proactively mitigating cyber risks for a prominent UK-based insurance firm.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in Python development, emphasizing backend engineering.

• Extensive experience in building backend applications and REST APIs.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

• Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Proven background in developing data-intensive applications, data pipelines, or solutions that handle large datasets.

• Solid grasp of software engineering best practices, testing methodologies, and clean code principles.

• Familiarity with Databricks or similar modern data platforms.

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Container Apps and Batch Processing.

• Experience in Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and deployment automation.

• Practical experience utilizing AI-assisted software development tools.
