Senior Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain backend services and REST APIs utilizing Python.

• Create scalable solutions for the ingestion, processing, and transformation of large datasets.

• Utilize Microsoft Azure, encompassing containerized workloads, batch processing, PostgreSQL, and event-driven architectures.

• Contribute to the development of cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Work with Databricks and contemporary data processing methodologies.

• Collaborate with engineers on system architecture, data modeling, and enhancements to the platform.

• Enhance software quality through code reviews, automated testing, and mentoring junior developers.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity, expedite problem-solving, and aid in coding, testing, and technical analysis.

• Develop and enhance a proprietary data platform for a prominent UK-based insurance firm that identifies vulnerabilities and mitigates cyber risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in Python development, focusing heavily on backend engineering.

• Significant experience in creating backend applications and REST APIs.

• Comprehensive knowledge of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

• Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience in building data-intensive applications, data pipelines, or solutions that handle large datasets.

• Strong grasp of software engineering best practices, testing methodologies, and principles of clean code.

• Familiarity with Databricks or other modern data platforms.

• Understanding of event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Container Apps or Batch Processing.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform.

• Experience with Azure DevOps and automation of deployments.

• Practical experience in utilizing AI-assisted software development tools.
