Senior Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs utilizing Python

• Create scalable solutions for the ingestion, processing, and transformation of large datasets

• Work with Microsoft Azure, including containerized workloads, batch processing, PostgreSQL, and event-driven architectures

• Contribute to cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code

• Engage with Databricks and contemporary data processing methodologies

• Collaborate with engineers on system design, data modeling, and platform enhancements

• Enhance software quality through code reviews, automated testing, and mentoring junior developers

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity, expedite problem resolution, and support coding, testing, and technical analysis

• Develop and advance a proprietary data platform that identifies vulnerabilities and proactively mitigates cyber risk for a prominent UK-based insurance firm

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Python development, with a strong emphasis on backend engineering

• Extensive experience in building backend applications and REST APIs

• Solid understanding of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases

• Practical experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines

• Experience in developing data-intensive applications, data pipelines, or solutions for processing large datasets

• Strong grasp of software engineering best practices, testing, and clean code principles

• Familiarity with Databricks or other modern data platforms

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems

• Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure Container Apps or Batch Processing

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, e.g., Terraform

• Proficiency with Azure DevOps and automation of deployments

• Practical experience using AI-assisted software development tools
