Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay, +3 more countries.

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize tools and customized workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task execution.

• Consistently extract data from dynamic and interactive web sources, adjusting to JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behavior.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting guidelines, and systematic verification.

• Scale scraping operations for extensive datasets employing efficient batching or parallelization techniques.

• Monitor failures and ensure stability against minor changes in site structure.

• Leverage Python, web scraping, data extraction, and data processing skills for Tendem project workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (required).

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar, handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs through proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures, such as hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in formats like CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Demonstrated experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent and containerization using Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic and ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English at Upper-intermediate (B2) level or above (required).

• A link to GitHub is advantageous.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is a plus.
