Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize existing tools and tailored workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task completion while adhering to specified requirements.

• Guarantee consistent extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources by adapting methods for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting criteria, and systematic verification before delivery.

• Enhance scraping operations for large datasets by employing efficient batching or parallel processing techniques.

• Track failures and ensure stability against minor modifications in site structure.

• Implement web scraping, data extraction, and data processing expertise in the Tendem project.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies in conjunction with technical skills and custom methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (mandatory).

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is desirable.

• Extensive experience with Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar), including dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs through proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complicated structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets formats.

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site architectures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of operational workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• English proficiency at an upper-intermediate level (B2) or higher (required).
