Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

• Manage comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of organized datasets.

• Utilize tools and bespoke workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task execution.

• Extract data from dynamic and interactive online sources, including content rendered by JavaScript.

• Modify scraping techniques in response to evolving site behaviors and structures.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting adherence, and systematic verification.

• Scale scraping operations for extensive datasets utilizing efficient batching or parallel processing.

• Observe failures and sustain stability amid minor changes in site structure.

• Implement tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies for web extraction and processing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar), including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, producing structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Demonstrated experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent and containerization with Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar concerning automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• A link to a GitHub profile is a plus.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above.
