Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden, +5 more countries.

• Manage comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize tools and bespoke workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task execution.

• Retrieve data from dynamic and interactive web sources, adjusting to JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Maintain data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency measures, formatting standards, and systematic verification.

• Scale scraping operations for extensive datasets using effective batching or parallel processing.

• Observe failures and ensure stability amidst minor structural changes on sites.

• Implement Python web scraping, data extraction, processing, automation, and LLM tools within the Tendem project.

• Operate independently to address complex challenges and resolve technical issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (required).

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• Robust technical foundation and practical expertise in scripting, automation, and data extraction workflows.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar, as well as handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs through proxies.

• Capability to extract data from complex structures, such as hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets in formats like CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Proven experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site architectures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker).

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar, applied to automation tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic and the ability to troubleshoot autonomously.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (required).
