Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction workflows across intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize available tools and tailor-made workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task execution while fulfilling established requirements.

• Guarantee dependable extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, adjusting methods for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality standards through validation processes, cross-source consistency checks, formatting guidelines, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Enhance scraping operations for extensive datasets by employing effective batching or parallelization techniques.

• Track failures and sustain stability against minor changes in site structure.

• Apply web scraping, data extraction, and data processing expertise to specialized Tendem project workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (mandatory).

• Strong proficiency in Python web scraping, including tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium or equivalent, handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs via proxies.

• Demonstrated capability to extract data from complex structures, such as hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Robust experience in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in formats like CSV, JSON, and Google Sheets.

• Proven track record of managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or similar, and experience with containerization using Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar applied to automation tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (required).

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.

• A link to GitHub is a plus.
