Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer, Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of data extraction processes across intricate websites, guaranteeing thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize available tools and tailored workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task completion while adhering to specified requirements.

• Ensure dependable extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, adjusting strategies for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting specifications, and systematic verification before delivery.

• Enhance scraping operations for large datasets through efficient batching or parallelization, monitor failures, and maintain stability against minor changes in site structure.

• Apply your expertise in web scraping, data extraction, and data processing for the Tendem project.

• Employ tools like Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies to implement technical data scraping workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (required).

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.

• Strong experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar), particularly with dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).

• Solid experience in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).

• Demonstrated ability to manage anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of operational workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above (required).
