Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer, Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of organized datasets.

• Utilize tools and customized workflows to enhance data collection, validation, and task execution.

• Extract information from dynamic and interactive web sources, including content rendered by JavaScript.

• Modify scraping techniques in response to evolving site behaviors and structures.

• Uphold data integrity through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting adherence, and systematic verification.

• Scale scraping operations for extensive datasets using efficient batching or parallel processing methods.

• Monitor failures and ensure stability against minor changes in site structures.

• Engage in specialized data scraping workflows for practical applications within the Tendem project.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (required).

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, dynamic content handling, and APIs via proxies.

• Proven expertise in extracting data from complex structures such as hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in formats such as CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent, and experience with containerization using Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the capability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (required).

• A GitHub link is advantageous.
