Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Manage comprehensive data extraction processes from intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and custom workflows to enhance data collection, validation, and task execution.

• Extract data consistently from dynamic and interactive web sources, including content rendered by JavaScript.

• Modify scraping techniques in response to evolving site behaviors and minor structural changes.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting standards, and systematic verification.

• Scale scraping operations for extensive datasets by employing efficient batching or parallel processing.

• Monitor failures and ensure the stability of scraping operations.

• Contribute to specialized data scraping workflows for the Tendem project at Mindrift.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar, dynamic content handling, and API interactions via proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures, encompassing hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets in CSV, JSON, and Google Sheets formats.

• Demonstrated expertise in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent.

• Experience in containerization utilizing Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar, applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy.

• A self-directed work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above.

• A GitHub link is a plus.
