Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Georgia, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of data extraction processes across intricate websites, ensuring comprehensive coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize existing tools and tailored workflows to enhance data collection, validation, and task execution while adhering to specified requirements.

• Ensure consistent extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, modifying strategies for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting guidelines, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Expand scraping operations for extensive datasets employing efficient batching or parallel processing.

• Monitor failures and sustain stability against minor alterations in site structure.

• Utilize web scraping, data extraction, and data processing expertise on the Tendem project for practical applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (mandatory).

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (mandatory).

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar), including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.

• Demonstrated ability to extract data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, producing structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).

• Proven experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of operational workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• A GitHub link is a plus.
