Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer, Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Take charge of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites, guaranteeing thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize tools and tailored workflows to enhance the speed of data collection, validation, and task execution.

• Ensure consistent extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources by adapting methods for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behavior.

• Uphold data quality standards through various validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting specifications, and systematic verification.

• Expand scraping operations for extensive datasets via efficient batching or parallelization techniques.

• Oversee failures and sustain stability against minor structural changes in websites.

• Apply specialized knowledge in web scraping, data extraction, and data processing for the Tendem project.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other relevant technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (mandatory).

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar), including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, ensuring the delivery of structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of actual workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above (required).
