Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of complete data extraction processes from intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize existing tools and tailored workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task execution while adhering to specified requirements.

• Guarantee dependable extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, modifying methods for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behavior.

• Uphold data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting specifications, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Enhance scraping operations for large datasets by employing efficient batching or parallelization techniques, monitor failures, and ensure stability against minor changes in site structure.

• Leverage expertise in web scraping, data extraction, and data processing for the Tendem project.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (mandatory).

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar), including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs through proxies.

• Demonstrated proficiency in extracting data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).

• Proven experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) within real workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (mandatory).
