Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer, Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize available tools and customized workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task execution while adhering to established requirements.

• Guarantee reliable extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, modifying techniques for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality standards via validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting specifications, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Scale scraping operations for extensive datasets using efficient batching or parallelization methods.

• Monitor failures and ensure stability against minor changes in site structure.

• Implement tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies for web extraction and processing.

• Methodically gather, structure, and validate data from various sources.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (mandatory).

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar), including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.

• Proven expertise in extracting data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, producing structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar) and containerization (Docker) as part of real workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a dedication to data accuracy.

• A self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• A link to a GitHub profile is a plus.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (mandatory).
