Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of complete data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Ensure thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize tools and personalized workflows to enhance data collection, validation, and task execution.

• Consistently extract data from dynamic and interactive web sources, adapting to JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behavior.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting specifications, and systematic verification procedures.

• Scale web scraping operations for extensive datasets using efficient batching or parallel processes.

• Monitor failures and sustain stability in response to minor changes in site structure.

• Leverage web scraping, data extraction, and data processing expertise within the Tendem project.

• Collaborate with tools including Apify, OpenRouter, and various other technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including frameworks like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar, as well as handling dynamic content and APIs through proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures such as hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets formats.

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud infrastructure and Docker containerization.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain or OpenRouter applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.

• Proficient in English at an Upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.

• A GitHub link is a plus.
