Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize available tools and customized workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task execution while adhering to established requirements.

• Guarantee consistent extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, adjusting strategies for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting requirements, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Enhance scraping operations for large datasets by employing effective batching or parallelization techniques.

• Track failures and ensure stability in response to minor changes in site structure.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies in conjunction with technical expertise and tailored approaches.

• Contribute specialized data scraping workflows for practical applications through the Tendem project.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar), including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.

• Proven track record of extracting data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in formats such as CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Documented experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of real workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and a dedication to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher.

• A GitHub link is a plus.
