Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer – Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +5 more states.

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes from intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Leverage existing tools and tailored workflows to enhance data gathering, validation, and task performance.

• Extract data consistently from dynamic and interactive web sources, adapting to JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting standards, and systematic verification processes.

• Expand scraping operations for large datasets by utilizing effective batching or parallel processing techniques.

• Monitor failures and ensure stability in response to minor changes in site structure.

• Utilize tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies, complemented by technical expertise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is an advantage.

• A robust technical foundation and hands-on experience with scripting, automation, and data extraction processes.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar, dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs via proxies.

• Proven expertise in extracting data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML layouts.

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets in formats like CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Demonstrated experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or its equivalents and containerization using Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar for automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy.

• A self-directed work ethic with the capability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English at Upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• A GitHub link is considered a plus.
