Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer, Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, accuracy, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize available tools and tailored workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task execution.

• Extract data consistently from dynamic and interactive web sources, adapting to JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behavior.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, consistency controls across sources, formatting standards, and systematic verification.

• Scale scraping efforts for extensive datasets using efficient batching or parallelization techniques.

• Monitor for failures and ensure stability in response to minor changes in site structure.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies for web data extraction and processing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including libraries like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar, along with dynamic content and APIs via proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML formats.

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation processes.

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, such as AWS or equivalent services.

• Experience in containerization using Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks, such as LangChain or OpenRouter, applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic and the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English at the Upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• A GitHub link is considered a plus.
