Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes from intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize existing tools and custom workflows to expedite data gathering, validation, and task execution.

• Consistently extract data from dynamic and interactive web sources, including JavaScript-rendered content.

• Adjust scraping strategies in response to evolving site behaviors and minor structural alterations.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, adherence to formatting, and systematic verification.

• Scale scraping activities for extensive datasets using efficient batching or parallel processing techniques.

• Monitor failures and ensure the stability of scraping operations.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and various other technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• A robust technical foundation and hands-on experience with scripting, automation, and data extraction workflows.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including libraries such as BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar tools, dynamic content handling (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs via proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML.

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in formats like CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets.

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent and containerization using Docker in practical workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks such as LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English at an Upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• A GitHub link is considered a plus.
