This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan, +3 more countries.
• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.
• Utilize tools and tailored workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task execution while adhering to specified requirements.
• Guarantee consistent extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, adjusting methodologies for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behaviors.
• Implement data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency measures, formatting guidelines, and systematic verification prior to delivery.
• Enhance scraping operations for extensive datasets through effective batching or parallel processing, monitor failures, and ensure stability against minor structural changes on sites.
• Leverage expertise in web scraping, data extraction, and data processing for the Tendem project.
• Employ Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies in conjunction with technical knowledge and custom methodologies.
• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (mandatory).
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related technical disciplines is advantageous.
• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar), including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs through proxies.
• Proven capability in extracting data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).
• Strong experience in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, providing structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).
• Documented experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of real-world workflows.
• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy.
• Ability to work independently with a self-directed work ethic and strong troubleshooting skills.
• A link to GitHub is considered a plus.
• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (mandatory).
