Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

• Manage comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Guarantee thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Leverage available tools and tailored workflows to enhance data gathering, validation, and task execution.

• Extract information from dynamic and interactive web sources, including content rendered by JavaScript.

• Modify scraping techniques in response to evolving site behaviors and minor structural changes.

• Uphold data quality through validation checks, consistency controls across sources, formatting standards, and systematic verification processes.

• Expand scraping operations for extensive datasets utilizing efficient batching or parallel processing.

• Oversee failures and ensure the stability of scraping activities.

• Utilize tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (mandatory).

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping, including tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium or similar, handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll), and APIs through proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures, including hierarchies, archived pages, and inconsistent HTML formats.

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, delivering structured datasets in CSV, JSON, or Google Sheets formats.

• Demonstrated experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site architectures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or equivalent, along with containerization using Docker.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar, applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (required).
