Senior Python Backend Developer – Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, create, and manage scalable backend services, secure microservices, and cloud-based components for high-performance AI applications.

• Guarantee reliability, security, scalability, and seamless integration among AI solutions, enterprise systems, and cloud infrastructure.

• Architect and develop scalable, resilient, and secure microservices along with RESTful/GraphQL APIs.

• Construct and sustain backend services that support AI platforms and applications.

• Integrate business databases, third-party services, and internal legacy systems with AI engines.

• Enhance backend performance, latency, and resource utilization for real-time AI inference and model hosting.

• Implement authentication, authorization (RBAC), and rate limiting measures.

• Establish and advocate for development best practices, clean code standards, and code quality processes.

• Create and uphold integration and automated tests.

• Conduct code reviews and support engineering quality initiatives.

• Collaborate with AI Engineers for the deployment of AI models and services in containerized environments.

• Design and execute cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS and other cloud platforms.

• Assist in the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of production systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in Backend Engineering, Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related disciplines.

• Demonstrated experience in building scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise applications.

• Experience in designing cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

• Strong programming proficiency in Python and Node.js.

• Practical experience with AWS cloud services.

• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture.

• Experience in integrating applications with databases, enterprise systems, and external APIs.

• Experience in implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms, including RBAC.

• Knowledge of containerization technologies and Docker environments.

• Experience with development best practices: Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, version control.

• Experience with Azure cloud services.

• Experience in supporting AI/ML platforms or AI-driven applications.

• Experience in Financial Services or Insurance sectors.

• Familiarity with high-availability and high-performance distributed systems.
