This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee engineering projects while collaborating with design engineers and drafters to ensure timely delivery of high-quality project milestones.
• Generate and update one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel layouts, specifications, as well as conduit and cable sizing/routing, and bills of materials.
• Design auxiliary AC and DC power systems.
• Develop SCADA systems along with communications interfaces.
• Facilitate system integration for protection, control, automation, and monitoring systems.
• Conduct relay burden, voltage drop, short circuit, battery sizing, and auxiliary AC/DC load calculations.
• Execute relay coordination studies and prepare relay settings.
• Coordinate project activities with Project Managers, clients, designers, and drafters.
• Carry out engineering and technical quality reviews of packages produced by other engineers and designers.
• Independently conduct site walk-downs to assess project requirements.
• Organize material delivery to project locations.
• Assist the Project Manager with project-related needs.
• Participate in project calls and meetings alongside the Project Manager.
• Comprehensive understanding of the substation project lifecycle at the utility level.
• Exceptional technical communication skills and detail-oriented work practices.
• High proficiency in teaching, training, and mentoring team members.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• EIT designation is required.
• A Professional Engineering License (PE) is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• At least 5 years of experience in relay protection and control design for high-voltage substations ranging from 15–500 kV.
• Successful completion of the Culture Index assessment.
