Senior Project Manager – Technical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Proactively oversee projects from initiation through to delivery and completion.

• Facilitate coordination among cross-functional teams through meetings and progress tracking activities.

• Manage project requirements, scope, and issues related to change management.

• Track project financials, including costs, budgets, staffing, resources, and risks.

• Ensure compliance with all legally binding requirements.

• Create project control solutions for effective planning, scheduling, and tracking.

• Oversee project forecast projections for both clients and Red Hat.

• Assist with proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, schedules, and project evaluations.

• Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on project activities, including oversight of subcontractors.

• Set metrics to evaluate project criteria.

• Establish project control and reporting procedures while managing operational plan modifications.

• Lead status review meetings with project teams and clients.

• Implement industry-standard project management and technical delivery methodologies, including Agile and Red Hat Services methodologies.

• Guide and inspire project team members to meet objectives and address technical and operational challenges.

• Stay informed about emerging technologies and advancements in project management techniques.

• Travel as needed to collaborate with regional accounts and service provider partners in person.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-10 years of pertinent program and project management experience, particularly in managing large, intricate enterprise IT projects.

• Proficiency in utilizing various project management and agile tools, frameworks, and methodologies.

• Proven history of successfully managing projects from start to finish.

• Experience in establishing and enhancing process improvements.

• Capability to work with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse management teams and internal/external partners.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage with executive-level customer personas.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• A balanced background in both business and technical domains.

• Proficient in articulating the value proposition of Project Management and promoting Red Hat Services PM methodologies and techniques.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

• Willingness to travel frequently, with up to 75% of the time dedicated to working directly with customers and visiting their sites.

• Certifications in Scrum Master, Lean, Product Management, and Project Management, along with training in computer science, are advantageous.

• Familiarity with and knowledge of open-source software technologies is preferred.
