This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.
• Supervise engineering projects of various complexities from inception to completion.
• Oversee project safety, scope definition, cost estimation, cost forecasting, and scheduling.
• Direct and manage engineering projects while ensuring alignment on goals and deliverables.
• Create comprehensive project plans, which include timelines, budgets, resource distribution, and risk management strategies.
• Collaborate and coordinate with manufacturing, maintenance, operations, and quality assurance teams.
• Offer technical guidance to internal cross-functional teams.
• Engage with equipment vendors, construction contractors, and engineering service providers.
• Track project progress, identify risks and challenges, and implement corrective measures.
• Update stakeholders on project status, risks, milestones, and progress.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, food safety regulations, and relevant regulatory requirements, including those set by the USDA and FDA.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives and encourage innovation within project teams.
• Manage multiple capital projects concurrently across various manufacturing sites.
• Assist with project commissioning, startup, and operational handoff activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field: Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical preferred.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, including over 3 years in capital project management for projects valued at $10 million or more.
• Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices, including utilities, maintenance, process safety management, and manufacturing processes in a regulated setting.
• Experience in food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods environments is preferred.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects across various plant locations.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in influencing and guiding cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional project planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel around 50%, primarily from Monday to Friday, based on project needs.
• Position may be situated remotely east of Denver, Colorado, and within a reasonable distance to a major airport, requiring regular travel to manufacturing sites.
• Capability to meet physical demands when visiting facilities, which may include walking around the site, climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling, performing repetitive hand-eye coordination tasks, and lifting or carrying materials.
• Ability to function in a manufacturing environment with large, moving machinery, potentially high noise levels, and fluctuating temperatures.
