Senior Project Manager – Law

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer guidance and service on patent preparation and prosecution.

• Oversee associated patent portfolio activities, including patent assessment, potential infringement concerns, competitive landscape analyses, and supervision of external counsel.

• Direct patent prosecution efforts and engage in the execution of intellectual property strategies.

• Prepare and submit US patent applications and assist with filings in other jurisdictions as well as foreign office actions.

• Actively participate in internal patent committees.

• Conduct interviews for invention disclosures to pinpoint patentable concepts.

• Provide counsel to senior IP leadership and collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement enhancements.

• Maintain relationships with outside counsel.

• Support large-scale and/or intricate cases and matters globally.

• Manage projects and matters with suitable oversight.

• Offer support and leadership in initiatives focused on improvement and issue resolution.

• Collaborate with engineering and other business units to comprehend priorities and challenges.

• Guide and oversee outside counsel and consultants as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering, computer science, material science, physics, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Authorized to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

• May require licensing to comply with export controls or sanctions regulations.

• Significant relevant professional experience, including leadership in team settings.

• Experience with Artificial Intelligence in the intellectual property domain.

• Preferred: Experience in preparing and prosecuting at least 50 patent applications.

• Preferred: At least 5+ years of pertinent intellectual property experience, encompassing global and domestic patent prosecution, patent strategies, patent analysis, and global IP portfolio management.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AI tools and AI prompting.

• Preferred: Experience with diesel engines.

• Preferred: Experience with data centers.

• Preferred: Registered Patent Agent or Attorney.

• Proficient analytical reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, influencing, communication, relationship management, and conflict management skills.
