This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Coordinate and execute AI enablement initiatives across licensing and consumption, cloud platforms and integration, governance and security, as well as training and adoption.
• Manage all facets of assigned projects, including timelines, responsibilities, progress tracking, and reporting to senior management.
• Develop and sustain relationships with branch directors, team members, vendors, ministries, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare project charters, business plans, and detailed project plans.
• Collaborate with business and IT leadership to establish objectives, scope, assumptions, timelines, resources, risks, benefits, and budgetary considerations.
• Oversee multiple simultaneous projects for various directors and sponsors while effectively balancing priorities, resources, and interdependencies.
• Create project schedules, estimate resource needs, monitor work plans, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
• Document and report project status in relation to objectives, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Strategically plan and manage the rollout of enterprise AI licenses, including allocation, quota tracking, ServiceNow provisioning, reassignment, and reclamation.
• Design chargeback and cost-recovery mechanisms for AI licenses and consumption-based services.
• Assist in onboarding new AI providers, models, and agents into the approved catalog.
• Establish reporting on license utilization, consumption, and expenditure, providing leadership with actionable recommendations.
• Manage the integration of cloud, on-premises, and direct-to-provider AI platforms, encompassing environments, sandboxes, landing zones, APIs, identity and access, and data connectors.
• Oversee lifecycle activities related to models and platforms, including deprecation and migration processes.
• Plan the transition of new capabilities into ongoing operations, which includes support frameworks, monitoring, documentation, and handover procedures.
• Coordinate STRAs, PIAs, information classification, and data residency assessments.
• Secure approvals for security, privacy, legal, and enterprise architecture requirements.
• Implement responsible AI standards and guidelines throughout project design, testing, and deployment.
• Organize User Acceptance Testing and release-readiness evaluations.
• Facilitate role-based training, adoption strategies, use-case identification, and change management support.
• Create requirements documentation, user instructions, support pathways, and knowledge articles.
• Monitor training completion and adoption metrics against established targets.
• Plan and manage pilot projects from initiation through recommendations for enterprise enablement.
• Generate deliverables for support teams, steering committees, and executive and ministerial stakeholders.
• Oversee project communications, risk escalation, client satisfaction, outcome assessment, and lessons learned activities.
• Extensive project management experience at a senior level within enterprise IT and cloud environments.
• Proficient understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Google Cloud services.
• Familiarity with SaaS licensing and tenant administration principles.
• Knowledge of cloud subscription and consumption models.
• Understanding of identity and access management principles.
• General knowledge of line-of-business applications and their architectures.
• Awareness of generative AI and agentic AI concepts, including assistants, agents, grounding, model selection, responsible AI risks, and consumption-based cost factors.
• Strong grasp of IT change management and communication strategies.
• Sound knowledge of User Acceptance Testing methodologies.
• Understanding of security and privacy evaluation processes, such as STRA and PIA.
• Experience implementing change in large, federated organizations where adoption relies on distributed business advocates.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in creating materials for Deputy Minister and Minister-level audiences.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with Government of Alberta and departmental IT policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and practices is advantageous.
• Knowledge of vendor licensing and procurement frameworks is an asset.
