Senior Project Manager – Capital Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +11 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee medium to large-scale capital projects from their inception and feasibility stages through design, construction, commissioning, and project completion.

• Create and uphold project scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocations, and execution strategies.

• Coordinate cross-functional project teams, including Engineering, Operations, EHS, Finance, Procurement, R&D, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Evaluate project performance and proactively recognize and resolve risks, issues, schedule delays, and cost discrepancies.

• Advocate for project teams throughout the company's Stage Gate process.

• Assess project business cases, scopes, cost estimates, schedules, risk evaluations, and supporting documentation at critical project milestones.

• Act as a resource and mentor for Project Managers, Engineers, and other members of the project team.

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives related to capital planning, project execution, cost management, and reporting.

• Foster effective communication between plant leadership, project teams, Finance, Engineering, and senior management.

• Prepare and deliver project updates and portfolio-level information to leadership.

• Provide leadership for projects from the initial planning and budgeting phases through execution, commissioning, and closeout.

• Assist in planning, tracking, forecasting, and budgeting of Capital Expenditures, ensuring projects advance through the Stage Gate process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related technical field is preferred.

• Over 10 years of experience managing capital projects in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar setting.

• In-depth knowledge of capital project processes, including budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, and general accounting policies and procedures.

• Strong comprehension of project cost management, forecasting, scheduling, and financial reporting.

• Solid understanding of construction and engineering principles.

• Commitment to ensuring a safe work environment for all projects.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.

• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing projects across various sites.

• Willingness to travel 50-80% of the time.
