Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, managing timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.

• Coordinate project activities and workflows using Jira, collaborating effectively with teams and stakeholders.

• Assist in software and technology delivery efforts alongside engineering, product, QA, infrastructure, and other technical teams.

• Facilitate requirement gathering, development, testing, UAT, releases, and implementation processes throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

• Examine extensive datasets with Excel and other tools to uncover trends, issues, and insights.

• Create executive-ready PowerPoint presentations, reports, and project updates.

• Utilize AI tools for research, analysis, reporting, documentation, and process enhancement.

• Recognize opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and enhance operational efficiency.

• Convert intricate technical and business data into actionable recommendations and next steps.

• Act as a trusted advisor to banking stakeholders, ensuring alignment of business goals with technology delivery.

• Lead the analysis, requirement gathering, and solution design for strategic initiatives.

• Supervise software delivery projects, ensuring they align with business priorities and compliance standards.

• Organize release planning and readiness reviews with product, development, QA, and operations teams.

• Establish project governance frameworks, including reporting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.

• Conduct impact assessments, identifying dependencies and regulatory ramifications.

• Assist in post-release evaluations and continuous improvement efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in project management, program management, operations, or a similar role in the banking/financial services sector.

• Strong understanding of banking environments, processes, and stakeholder dynamics.

• Demonstrated experience in managing projects and multiple priorities, especially in technology or software delivery.

• Proficient in Jira, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum teams and knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Highly analytical, capable of navigating large datasets and complex information.

• Strong familiarity with AI tools and practical experience in their application.

• Proficiency in Python is advantageous, particularly for data analysis and automation purposes.

• Experience collaborating with technical teams, software development, systems integration, APIs, databases, or cloud technologies is a plus.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong sense of ownership.

• Proven experience as a Business Consultant, Business Analyst, or Project Manager within the banking or financial services arena.

• In-depth knowledge of banking operations, compliance requirements, and technology-driven transformation initiatives.

• Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and product lifecycle.

• Proven capability to manage cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders across all levels.

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or Azure DevOps.

• Professional certifications such as PMP, Agile, Scrum, or CBAP are preferred.

• Experience with regulatory, compliance, or risk-related initiatives in banking is preferred.

• Technical background or familiarity with software architecture and integration concepts is preferred.
