Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Guide and mentor Scrum teams in self-organization, cross-functionality, and achieving goals.

• Facilitate ceremonies including sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.

• Identify and eliminate obstacles that impede team progress.

• Coach development teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile methodologies and practices.

• Cultivate communication and collaboration within Scrum teams and with stakeholders.

• Assist Product Owners in managing the product backlog and refining user stories.

• Advocate for Agile adoption and promote continuous improvement throughout the organization.

• Monitor and report on team progress, velocity, and relevant metrics.

• Mediate and resolve conflicts within Scrum teams and with external stakeholders.

• Contribute to the scaling of Agile practices across various teams.

• Drive ongoing improvement through retrospectives and ensure follow-up on agreed actions.

• Provide training and guidance on Scrum and Agile methodologies.

• Engage with delivery and customer stakeholders at all levels within the organization.

• Collaborate with the PMO on status updates, issues, risks, decisions, and change requests.

• Lead and inspire project teams while overseeing engineers and architects in areas such as infrastructure modernization, data engineering, and application development.

• Assist the PMO Center of Excellence in evolving and implementing sustainable organizational change.

• Regularly interact with customers regarding opportunity qualification, project initiation, progress updates, and project closure.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

• Experience with SAFe, including certification and application in at least two or three projects.

• In-depth knowledge of Agile principles, values, and the Scrum framework.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate Scrum ceremonies and manage a product backlog.

• Experience in identifying and resolving impediments.

• Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution capabilities.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Smartsheet.

• Minimum of three years of experience managing IT deployment projects.

• At least seven years of relevant experience in a technical, engineering, or software development setting.

• Experience leading a team of engineers.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Exceptional organizational abilities.

• Positive attitude toward change and adaptability.

• Passion for cloud computing.

• Customer-facing experience.

• Willingness to engage with stakeholders ranging from engineers to executives.
