Senior Project Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assist Development leadership and the Project Manager with daily activities and responsibilities.

• Support various campus projects while ensuring budgets, schedules, and status reports are up to date.

• Prepare monthly updates on the development program and project status for executive-level evaluations.

• Assist in master development programs, including campus design solutions and capital budget management.

• Aid in the entitlement and permitting processes.

• Create scopes of work for design, construction, and commissioning services.

• Engage in procurement processes and project cost estimations.

• Assess and standardize pricing proposals.

• Coordinate equipment procurement and delivery with strategic procurement teams.

• Facilitate submittals with site stakeholders.

• Track project budgets and actual costs in relation to overall budgets.

• Review project schedules and guide teams toward timely completion.

• Evaluate contractor change order requests and negotiate pricing.

• Assist in implementing site construction security protocols.

• Maintain and nurture relationships, acting as a liaison with key QTS stakeholders.

• Represent QTS interests in OAC meetings.

• Participate in due diligence for potential land banks and properties.

• Assess opportunities for designing and constructing new data centers alongside Corporate Real Estate, Connectivity, Power, and Construction teams.

• Improve project management processes and protocols with the internal development team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of five years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures.

• Proven experience in managing Lump Sum, Construction Management @ Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods from conceptual development through procurement to close-out.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

• US Citizenship is required by law due to federal customer contracts.

• Previous experience in mission-critical data center facilities is preferred.

• Experience managing MEP trades is preferred.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both internal and external team settings.

• Capability to address problems at both tactical and functional levels.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
