Senior Project Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Serve as the technical project manager and system integrator for medium and high voltage power supply projects.

• Create power supply concepts tailored for steel manufacturing plants and rolling mills.

• Design single-line diagrams for plant power supply systems.

• Determine the sizing of distribution transformers.

• Choose appropriate medium and high voltage switchgear and cabling.

• Develop protection concepts for substation SCADA systems.

• Engineer substation secondary circuits through both basic and detailed engineering processes.

• Conduct analyses for power system harmonics, short-circuit scenarios, and load-flow assessments.

• Collaborate with clients to align developed concepts with their needs.

• Assist in pre-project management, sales initiatives, and daily operational tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree specializing in high and medium voltage distribution systems, focusing on MV/HV substation design.

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the design of MV/HV substations.

• Proficiency in design tools such as ETAP, EPLAN, SINCAL, MATLAB SIMULINK, or similar software.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in German.

• Good command of written and spoken English.

• Experience in sizing STATCOM or harmonic filters is highly valued.

• Knowledge in relay settings and coordination calculations is also greatly appreciated.
