Mechanical Engineering Patent Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.

📋 Description

• Engage with inventors to prepare patent applications for submission to the USPTO.

• Prosecute patent applications at the USPTO, which includes interviewing Examiners.

• Collaborate with clients and fellow BoMc attorneys to enhance and refine claim strategies.

• Actively manage a docket of cases for clients, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

• Compose noninfringement and invalidity opinions.

• Execute due diligence investigations.

• Conduct freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses under the supervision of partners.

• Manage post-grant proceedings at the USPTO, including Inter Partes Reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience, particularly in mechanical engineering.

• A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or considerable experience in the mechanical engineering field.

• A positive attitude towards client service.

• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and professional service skills, both written and verbal.

• Capability to multitask, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and thrive in a team setting.

• A self-starter dedicated to achieving success and fostering personal professional development.

• A desire to be actively involved in all facets of a dynamic law firm team.

• A cover letter is required.

• Law school and undergraduate transcripts must be submitted with the application or upon request by the firm.
