Senior Program Manager, IT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage all IT projects and programs related to Infrastructure, Cloud & AI Platforms, Security, and Application Management.

• Develop and sustain a transparent IT project portfolio.

• Coordinate with the Heads of respective areas to prioritize projects, address dependencies, and resolve resource conflicts.

• Spearhead cross-functional initiatives, including the introduction of new cloud services, international expansion, AI deployments, and site inaugurations.

• Provide the VP with regular updates on the portfolio, including status, risks, and necessary decisions using a red/amber/green format.

• Supervise IT Project Managers within a matrix structure by establishing priorities, quality benchmarks, and work packages.

• Facilitate project planning and ensure it aligns with the overall strategic plan.

• Serve as a sparring partner and aid in the methodological growth of Project Managers.

• Create and implement a formal project intake and demand management process.

• Evaluate incoming requests to differentiate between operational tasks and projects.

• Identify and address cross-functional dependencies.

• Promptly escalate any blockers or resource limitations to the VP.

• Maintain consistent portfolio management processes for all IT projects.

• Ensure seamless transitions of project deliverables into operational settings.

• Set up standardized project guidelines, templates, status reports, and milestones.


⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in managing IT project portfolios within technically intricate environments.

• Proven experience in coordinating cross-functional IT projects—not limited to isolated projects.

• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud and AI platforms, application management, and security, enabling effective professional dialogue with the Heads of respective areas.

• Experience in project portfolio management, encompassing prioritization, dependency analysis, and resource allocation.

• Practical methodological expertise in both agile and traditional project management approaches.

• Capability to achieve results through matrix leadership without having direct disciplinary authority.

• Excellent communication skills at technical, strategic, and executive levels.

• Organized working style with strong conflict-resolution abilities.

• Ability to work independently while establishing a new function.

• Experience in collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders across different organizational tiers.

• Proficient in German and possess good English language skills.
