This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage, enhance, and prioritize the product backlog for Care Coordination Services.
• Create user stories and acceptance criteria, and validate completed tasks.
• Act as the main engineering liaison for inquiries regarding requirements during sprints.
• Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Convert roadmap initiatives, such as Forms and Referral Management, into release plans, epics, features, and stories.
• Make prioritization and trade-off choices at the sprint level; escalate roadmap-level decisions to the Product Manager.
• Collaborate with Product Management on discovery, gathering customer feedback, conducting user interviews, validation sessions, and ensuring release readiness.
• Work with engineering and QA to address defects, clarify edge cases, and eliminate ambiguity.
• Coordinate with UX/design teams on user flows and mockups.
• Maintain PRDs, user stories, release notes, training materials, and updates post-launch.
• Assist in UAT coordination, customer pilots, and internal enablement for sales, implementation, and customer success teams.
• Monitor and report on velocity, throughput, defect rates, and scope changes; highlight risks.
• Analyze customer feedback, support tickets, and field input, and direct relevant insights to Product Management.
• Connect product, engineering, QA, design, customer success, and implementation teams.
• Utilize AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot for product operations, documentation, feedback analysis, and backlog grooming.
• Perform additional assigned tasks and promote Verisma Core Values.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a similar role within a software product team.
• Proven experience managing a product backlog in an Agile/Scrum environment, composing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and collaborating with engineering throughout delivery.
• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare technology, preferably in Care Coordination, Health Information Management, Release of Information, EHR/EMR, referral management, clinical workflow, or related fields.
• Practical experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar backlog and project management tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical abilities and competence in using data to guide prioritization.
• Capability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, QA, and product managers.
• Skill in extracting requirements and translating them into clear, testable stories.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong commitment to documentation discipline.
• Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, including 0-to-1 product development.
• Capacity to work independently while taking guidance from Product Management.
• Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or a comparable certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with U.S. healthcare provider environments, HIPAA, FHIR, and HL7 is preferred.
• Experience in supporting 0-to-1 product builds, referral management, intake/forms automation, care coordination workflows, or AI/ML-enabled product features is preferred.
