This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the delivery process for the Billing and Data teams by managing team backlogs, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and ensuring that work is well-defined, prioritized, and ready for engineering execution.

• Create detailed feature epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

• Manage and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), which includes writing and executing SQL queries directly against BigQuery to ensure data accuracy and pipeline integrity.

• Organize release planning, compose comprehensive release notes, and handle internal rollout communications.

• Collaborate with fellow Product Owners to address cross-team dependencies and sequencing.

• Work alongside Product Managers to develop product strategy, vision, and business alignment.

• Collaborate with Engineering Managers regarding resource capacity, technical guidance, backlog planning, and delivery decisions.

• Partner with the Program Manager for cross-functional coordination and stakeholder alignment.

• Define and validate Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).

• Provide product training and enablement for customer-facing teams, support staff, and internal stakeholders.

• Communicate upcoming work, progress, and timelines to stakeholders and executives.

• Maintain extensive knowledge of NMI's five billing platforms, including their architectures, business rules, interdependencies, and the various merchant and partner segments.

• Act as the primary contact for billing-related feature inquiries across engineering, finance, and operations.

• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, auditable, and accurately integrated billing operations.

• Translate complex billing requirements into actionable user stories.

• Identify platform-level risks, technical debt, and opportunities for consolidation.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of data ingestion pipelines, transformation layers, and data artifact delivery on GCP and BigQuery.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for data platform inquiries, pipeline scope, and data artifact requirements.

• Validate pipeline outputs, transformation accuracy, and data acceptance criteria prior to live releases.

• Collaborate with data engineering to define and prioritize data models, views, and dashboards.

• Advocate for data governance, lineage, scalability, usability, and compliance with privacy regulations in data handling.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager, demonstrating a strong record of feature ownership in platform, infrastructure, or data-centric settings.

• Proven capability to become the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the products and features you oversee, possessing both technical depth and business context.

• Strong comprehension of cloud-based data platforms, pipelines, and tools (e.g., BigQuery, dbt, Airflow).

• Ability to write and execute SQL queries against BigQuery for UAT validation—ensuring that pipeline outputs, transformation logic, and data accuracy align with acceptance criteria.

• Proficient in Agile development methodologies and tools (such as Jira, Confluence, Figma).

• Experience in conducting and managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to guarantee product quality and stakeholder satisfaction.

• Effective communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in coordinating software release cycles, QA processes, and documentation.

• A passion for understanding end users and translating insights into actionable product improvements.

• Experience in financial systems, billing platforms, or accounting modules within a SaaS or fintech context is advantageous.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform, is preferred.

• Experience in data governance or privacy-compliant data handling (GDPR, CCPA) is a plus.

• A technical background (Computer Science degree or equivalent experience) is beneficial.

• Must possess the legal right to work in the United States.
