This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the delivery for the Billing and Data teams by managing team backlogs, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and ensuring that work is clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for engineering execution.
• Create comprehensive feature epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Manage and conduct UAT, including writing and executing SQL queries against BigQuery to confirm data accuracy and the integrity of pipelines.
• Coordinate release planning, draft release notes, and manage internal communication regarding rollouts.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and the Program Manager on dependencies, strategies, capacity, sequencing, and coordination.
• Define and validate MVPs that align with NMI's strategic objectives.
• Provide product training and enablement for customer-facing teams, support staff, and internal stakeholders.
• Communicate upcoming work, progress, and timelines to stakeholders and executives.
• Acquire in-depth knowledge of NMI's five billing platforms and act as the primary contact for billing-related matters.
• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, auditable billing integrations.
• Identify risks related to platforms, technical debt, and opportunities for consolidation.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of data ingestion pipelines, transformation layers, and data artifact delivery on GCP and BigQuery.
• Work alongside data engineering on data models, views, and dashboards.
• Champion data governance, lineage, scalability, usability, and compliance in data handling.
• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager, demonstrating a strong history of feature ownership in platform, infrastructure, or data-centric environments.
• Proven capability to become the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the products and features you oversee, encompassing both technical depth and business context.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms, pipelines, and tools such as BigQuery, dbt, and Airflow.
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries against BigQuery for UAT validation, ensuring that pipeline outputs, transformation logic, and data accuracy meet specified acceptance criteria.
• Proficient in Agile development frameworks and tools, including Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
• Experience in conducting and managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure product quality and satisfaction among stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills that effectively bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in coordinating software release cycles, QA processes, and documentation.
• A passion for understanding end users and transforming insights into actionable product improvements.
• A technical background, such as a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience, is a plus.
